This session explores how we progress student learning in the English classroom over the three years of Junior Cycle. You will consider the opportunities students have to demonstrate their knowledge, understanding, skills and values as you work with a selection of learning outcomes using a broad range of texts. Session 2 offers a choice of two workshops. These are gathered together on a Google site. The workshops are designed to be navigated independently. You can stop and start the Oral Language Workshop according to areas of appeal, or pop one of ‘Film in Junior Cycle’ podcasts in your ears and take it for a walk. Click on the video to find out more about these workshops before making your selection.
Session 3 explores the role of the collection of student texts in progressing student learning. It focuses on three aspects of the collection of student texts: how you can approach the development of the writing process, how you might share and manage feedback and shared approaches to the collection of texts within your own English department.
