It will focus on the key aspects of change relating to Junior Cycle provision in your school, including
- The dual approach to assessment
- The balance between knowledge and skills
- Reporting on the broader picture of learning
- A flexible programme for students’ learning
- Teacher professional collaboration
These key aspects of change are central to the Framework for Junior Cycle (2015).
CPD Supports (2022/2023)
Your Junior Cycle Implementation of L1LPs L2LPs
This CPD is designed specifically to support mainstream post primary schools in their implementation of the L1LPs and/or L2LPs. It focuses on the rationale of the L1LPs, L2LPs and the Post Primary Guidelines for supporting students with Special Education Needs, which that is as much of these students learning takes place alongside their peers, students should follow individual Junior Cycle programmes dependent on the identified strengths and needs, and that the classroom teacher has primary responsibility for all the students in their class. Schools who wish to engage with L2LPs CPD at full staff level should be at a certain stage of implementing the L2LPs. Some schools implementing the L1LPs alongside the L2LPs, the implementation of both programmes follows the same process. This CPD has been designed to meet the needs of these schools along with those who are implementing only the L2LPs.
